EVLOS Approval Training

Extended Visual Line of Sight (EVLOS) training equips attendees with the skills to successfully implement EVLOS into a companies drone operations. The course is conducted via Aviassist’s “Online Live” platform and includes procedures for Class 1 and Class 2 EVLOS operations that can be added to your company’s operational documentation.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Additional traffic considerations (VFR+IFR) when operating Extended Visual Line of Sight
  • Team co-ordination and Remote Pilot, Observer and Supervisory Pilot procedures
  • Internal training requirements for EVLOS
  • Risk Assessments for RPAS operations Extended Visual Line of Sight
  • Civil Aviation Safety Authority EVLOS application process
  • Radio procedures for RPAS operations Extended Visual Line of Sight
  • Emergency Response procedures
  • Human Factors for RPAS operations Extended Visual Line of Sight

>400ft Approval Training

RPAS operations above 400ft AGL (above ground level) require an area approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). This one day equips attendees with the knowledge to successfully implement above 400ft operations.

The course includes:

  • Additional traffic considerations (VFR+IFR) when operating RPAS above 400 feet
  • Risk Assessments for RPAS operations above 400 feet
  • Civil Aviation Safety Authority above 400ft application process
  • NOTAM creation
  • Radio procedures for RPAS operations above 400 feet
  • Emergency Response procedures
  • Human Factors for RPAS operations above 400 feet

3nm Approval Training

To apply to fly within 5.5 km (3 nm) of a controlled aerodrome you must apply directly with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). Our approvals workshop provides operators with the requirements and guidance in submitting these approval requests to CASA directly.
