What Aircraft Models are used during the Training?

A common question we are asked is, what specific aircraft model will you be operating during your training and why?

The type and weight of aircraft you will operate during your training are specific to the category you have chosen to receive your licence. Aviassist have chosen specific aircraft models for your training that promote safe, proficient and professional use, are reliable, and teach skills that are comparable and adaptable to those required in your business or organisation.

If you are completing the Multirotor <25kg type training, your practical flight experience will be conducted on a DJI Phantom 4 and a DJI Matrice 600.

The DJI Phantom 4 is a smaller drone and is used to gain confidence and skill with your flying. Once competent, you will progress to the DJI Matrice 600 to complete your multirotor training. Aviassist has chosen the DJI remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) as DJI are considered market leaders in professional, easy-to-fly drones and aerial photography systems, making them a popular choice for commercial use.

Aviassist’s fixed-wing type training will be completed on a Sensefly Ebee. The Sensefly Ebee is used as it is considered to have some of the most intuitive ground control software on the market. Competitor equipment on the market is often 2-3x the size of the Ebee, with similar capabilities, making the Ebee an obvious choice for transportation and ease of use.

Alternatively, fixed-wing training can be conducted on the robust Mavinci Sirius; a larger professional surveying drone.

Powered Lift RPAS

The powered lift type training can be completed on either the Wingtra or Trinity, depending on your requirements and the existing system used within your business or organisation. If the aircraft your business is using is not one of these two class-leading systems it will likely operate very closely to it. Aviassist has a comprehensive knowledge of both systems, and can help you determine which is right for you.

The reasoning behind Aviassist’s selection of aircraft is simple; they are some of the more popular, reliable and user-friendly systems available on the market and are often the systems chosen to operate within businesses and organisations. These professional aircraft have been designed carefully for maximum efficiency and safety and this is the reason, they are trusted by Aviassist.
